Air Jordan 2: dunks with style.

In 1987, and after the success of the Air Jordan 1, Nike decided to continue the saga with a shoe made in Italy. With the Air Jordan 2, Nike made clear that they took Jordan very seriously. As a step prior to the creation of the Jordan brand, Bruce Kilgore and Peter Moore designed a sneaker without the Nike logo for the first time.

Jordan released his brand new shoes during the all star celebrated in Seattle, and he did it winning his first dunk contest. However, this wasn’t the only achievement reached with the Jordan 2, since in the same year Air became the second player to score 3000 points in a single NBA season, after Wilt Chamberlain.

The original Air Jordan 2 was released in white leather, and perfectly harmonised with details in red and black, which made it more stylish than any other basketball shoe at that moment.

Here you have a video of the dunk contest in which the star from the Chicago Bulls was able to avenge the last defeat 2 years before.
