adidas ZX Flux Tech: the evolution of the Flux

We so love season starts at foot District! Today we review a very special sneaker. From design to technology, not to forget the cut-edge materials, these adidas ZX Flux Tech are a true masterpiece.

The adidas ZX Flux are one of the most successful models this season. And no wonder: as Bea revealed in her post about the Flux, adidas based their design on the adidas ZX 8000, a high-performance sneaker. That, together with a more straightforward, minimalist silhouette, turned the ZX Flux into a one in a million sneaker.

The model we review today is an even more advanced version of the usual Flux. In addition to the TPU stabilizer and the Torsion system, they feature some extra technologies.

Firstly we have the adiprene capsule under the heel. adiprene is a viscous material with an energy-absorbing behavior, which helps protect from impact the area of the foot that first touches the ground. Compared to another adidas material, the adiprene+, it is plain to see how these two materials act reversely:

As you can see, on sneakers featuring both materials, adiprene absorbs the harmful impact and adiprene+ brings all the energy back on the toe area, giving us extra impulse.

Furthermore, the sole on these adidas ZX Flux Tech is identical to the one on adizero adios models, and is designed to provide lightweight high performance.

In what refers to design, adidas chose an one-piece textile upper with a Nordic-inspired pattern and a shiny finish. Details like the three stripes or the heel stabilizer come in reflective leather, so they stand out against the rest of the upper. Another small detail that adds to the value of this sneaker is the easy-lace system.

To sum up, adidas didn’t leave anything to chance on these adidas ZX Flux Tech, and there’s no denying that the design is something else. Do you dare to wear them?
