New Balance C-Series: With C for cycling

One of the growing tendencies for 2015 in urban footwear will no doubt be technological innovation. After the success of Nike with the Ultra Moire or adidas and their app for completely customizing the adidas ZX Flux, New Balance takes a step forward with the new C-Series, designed for urban cyclists.

The New Balance C-Series CM600 were created on the New Balance Lifestyle Design Studio in Tokio, and take after the silhouette of the New Balance 620, to which they add many details thought specially of cyclists. In addition to their sleek silhouette, perfect for pedaling, they are made of a synthetic material similar to rubber, which provides great durability.

Underneath this upper layer, small cut out holes allow another layer of reflective material to be seen, which is also present on the laces and heel to improve visibility, always vital for cyclists.

As to the colors, monochrome colourways have been used to emphasize the simplicity of the silhouette of the CM 600. At foot District we have two colourways available: the New Balance CM 600 CBK, in black, and the CM 600 CBR, in yellow.

Going on with the features for cycling, let’s take a closer look at the tongue. It is made of neoprene, allowing them to slip on and off easier, and they include a pouch to hide away the laces and stop them from getting caught on the pedals or chain.

All of these special features are displayed on the presentation video of the New Balance C-Series, where you can also see the other models from these series, the CT700 and the 996c

To further celebrate the release of this new line, the independent bike brand Tokiobike designed two exclusive models, with finishes that match the mustard and navy blue uppers of two of the New Balance CM600. This brand stands out for manufacturing bikes intended for comfort and the enjoyment of cities, so it was the perfect ally to accompany the New Balance C-Series.

To sum up, New Balance successfully joins an elegant and modern style with the features that any cyclist needs in a pair of sneakers. A real hit by the brand of the N, which we hope will continue to pleasantly surprise us with new releases next season.
