The Foot District Madrid store hosted a launch party for the new ASICS drop, the GEL-Kinsei OG. Attendees, including influencers from the world of fashion and music, to sneakerheads, to loyal ASICS fans, to Foot District community friends, all mingled and came to see first hand the Japanese streetwear firm’s latest creation.
The ASICS GEL-Kinsei OG sneakers embody the rise of technical advancements in the urban scene and radiate a Y2K essence to a superior kind of neo-retro sophistication. Its design is a hybrid between the past and the future, with an upper covered in silver metallic in a masterful tribute to the early 2000s aesthetics that represent an entire generation. The women’s colorway, included in the Future Metallic Pack, exhibits a futuristic look, thanks to details and polarized-like materials reflecting current trends.
To bring the sneaker even closer, ASICS and Foot District created a campaign that solidifies the identity of this new must-have, starring a powerhouse trio that combine the very personality and vibes that the GEL-Kinsei OG is all about: Antifan, Alvva and Jenny Tran are the stars in charge of giving life to a high-end shoe of the most psychedelic nature.
Two of them, Antifan, member of the Spanish phenomenon Agorazein, and Alvva, one of the latest DJs on the rise in the Spanish music scene, performed live at the event, next to the ever-invincible Albal, of the collective Chica Gang. The trio of aces was responsible for keeping the event pumping with beats and urban rhythms, getting the event guests dancing and creating the perfect atmosphere surrounding the ASICS GEL-Kinsei OG.
At the release event we were also joined by many of the latest, hottest talents in Spain, such as: stylist Ana Sotillo, designers María Ke Fisherman, singers María Escarmiento, Recycled J and Paula Cendejas, among many others.
