Vans Era

Vans Era

With origins in the world of skateboarding, the Vans Era is a sneaker icon that evokes the skating scene of the 1970s. Its creation represented a masterful expansion of options and colors from a classic model, completely transforming skateboarding footwear and entering fully into the urban fashion scene of today.

Black or white?

In the middle of the 1960s, the Van Doren brothers created the iconic canvas shoes with vulcanized soles that marked the beginning of the history of Vans. It was a pair of shoes that could be customized, more or less: you could choose between black or white. The Californian skaters embraced the model for its ability to adapt perfectly to the board, and thus, it ended up becoming an icon in the urban skater scene.

The start of the Vans Era

The skaters Stacey Peralta and Tony Alva designed their own model exclusively for the brand. Thus, from the Authentic Vans, which was the brand's first model and prototype, a new skater shoe would arrive: the Vans Era. The color palette was expanded and certain areas of the shape were reinforced. The silhouette was perfect for tricks with the board, clinging to perfection and allowing total freedom of movement. Later came Vans models such as the Vans Era 59, and ultra-modern reissues such as the Vans Era Stacked. Nevertheless, the classics will never go away, as such is the case of the black Vans Era.
