The history of Brooks

Brooks was founded in Philadelphia in 1914, initially as a manufacturer of ballet shoes and flip-flops. Soon after, it ventured into baseball and American football, but it was in the 70s when the brand made a decisive turn toward running.

As running expanded as a sporting phenomenon, Brooks gained relevance with models like Villanova, Vantage, and Chariot, which associated the brand with technology. In the 80s, the brand also ventured into other sports like basketball, creating models for Dominique Wilkins.

Brooks and running

In 2001, Brooks decided to focus all its attention on running, developing iconic models like the Adrenaline for road running and the Cascadia for trail running, in collaboration with Scott Jurek. Today, Brooks continues to innovate with models like Ghost or Glycerin, while also re-releasing some of its most popular shoes.

The focus on technology and performance continues to be the foundation of its designs, both for road runners and the more adventurous trail runners.
