Jan and Patrick Olyslager are not new to the international fashion scene —their family is proud to have been involved in the knitwear industry for over thirty years under the brand name Morrison. However, it was not until 2008 that the Belgian brothers decided to create a new label that would take up the roots of the previous one, and that would produce garments of the highest quality with local materials. This is how Howlin' was born, Scottish slang for "smelly", a name that acts as a musical tribute.

And what is its purpose? Providing a fresh and innovative touch to traditional Scottish knitwear while preserving its unforgettable legacy. A fusion that recovers the best techniques from the past and incorporates the technology, patterns, colors and concepts of the present.

Howlin' is committed to local manufacturing and therefore designs and produces its items exclusively in Scotland, Ireland and Belgium. From the grading, scouring and dyeing fleece before colour blending, to the carding, spinning, twisting and balling. A whole process carried out in small factories in countryside areas, as a homage to the long-lasting origins of knitwear. A manufacturing decision that guarantees a sustainable and careful production.
