Passion and innovation, the perfect combo

It all began when the three-time world Duathlon champion, and three-time Iron Man champion Olivier Bernhard, embarks on the search for the perfect running shoe. An adventure that led him to meet a Swiss engineer whose innovative ideas on design applied to running convinced him to start a fascinating, new project.

The joint experiences of both individuals gave birth to the first sneaker prototype. A groundbreaking system based on the combination of an explosive launch with soft cushioning. That “running through the clouds” feeling convinced Caspar Coppetti and David Allemann to join the project in 2010.

A successful race

Even with the brand taking its first steps, all the test runners showed their enthusiasm when trying some On. Just one month after those tests, in February 2010, the brand won the ISPO BrandNew, one of the most important awards for innovation in sport.

On still has a long way to go to reach the goal. The Swiss company won ISPO Gold again in 2015, in addition to being considered one of the best 20 running shoe brands by Runner's World or being the center of scientific studies confirming the effectiveness of its technology.

With presence in the United States, Japan, Australia and Brazil, On continues to gain fans and brand lovers thanks to already iconic models, such as the Cloudracer, the Cloudace or the Cloudedge. In addition, its presence at the feet of athletes at the top of the podium becomes commonplace, as is the case with Nikola Spirig, Frederik Van Lierde or Roger Federer himself.
