Patta was born from a love for culture and style. Founded by Edson Sábado and Guillaume Schmidt, two key figures in the Dutch hip-hop scene, the brand is a reflection of authenticity and a design with its own character that is built with the community as its pillar.
In 2004, Patta was not a typical store. Inspired by their trips to New York to hunt for "hidden gems" in shops in Brooklyn or Queens, its founders set out to sell sneakers that were not found in Europe. With a DIY mentality, their reputation was forged with backpacks full of sneakers and a real vision of what the street demanded.
Patta, which means "shoe" in Sranan Tongo (a nod to its Surinamese roots), became the meeting point for DJs, artists, and friends. From there, its aesthetic—striking graphics and bold typography—grew organically, driven by a community that prioritizes authenticity over trends.
FROM THE STREET TO A GLOBAL MOVEMENT
Patta's garments were born from the unexpected success of t-shirts printed for friends. A project that became a reflection of a community's identity, and which today is the basis of its global success. Each collaboration is a way of keeping that connection alive, demonstrating that its vision is unique and its voice is one of the most respected in urban fashion.
Wearing Patta is a commitment to its roots, to the vision of a community that celebrates style as an act of culture and personal expression, without effort and without limits.
