Asics GEL-Kayano, a saga born in 1993

The Kayano series, one of the most historic for runners, was born in 1993 and its name is not that of a great runner but of its designer, Toshikazu Kayano. True to the Kaizen method of continuous improvement, the original idea, that of a total training shoe, was updated every season until it became an icon for runners looking for the best. Kayano designed the first thirteen models in the series.

The Asics GEL-Kayano 14 arrived in 2008 and was the first Kayano created by a different designer. Although it retained many of the ideas of the saga, the Asics GEL-Kayano 14 was a design of its time, when technology was visible and layers of different materials were layered on top of each other for added protection.

The Asics GEL-Kayano 14 now returns as a silhouette with a deeply contemporary style, perfect for a time when late 90s/early 2000s shapes have become trendy. Overlays, silver tones, reflective materials and visible technology recapture an aesthetic while providing extra comfort.

This version reinterprets the high performance features of the shoes with updated materials and components and renews its designs with collaborations with JJJJound, Unaffected, Ice Studios or Angelo Baque.
