The origins of Nike's Dunk for men.

The Nike Dunk for men first appeared in a sporting context, as a basketball shoe for college and university teams. In 1985, Nike launched the Dunk in a variety of colours with the goal of reaching as many teams as possible. And by doing so, he was able to win over not only the university players, but also their fans.

The Dunk, originally designed exclusively for men, maintained a relationship with the streets that lasted throughout the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s, primarily as a skate shoe. Nike noticed and released a Dunk SB version with a modified design in 2002.

Nike Dunk and limited editions

Transformed into an icon for American youth, the Nike Dunk made their way to Japan as a collecting object. From there, new partnerships emerged, placing the Nike Dunk in a new context.
