The origin of Nike Zoom

In the 1990s, Nike developed Tensile Air, a system designed to provide Air cushioning in a more compact format. The technology, which was eventually marketed as Zoom Air, was applied to pioneering models like the Zoom Alpha, Zoom Spiridon, and Zoom LWP, showcasing its potential with a quick response and an aggressive style that transcended urban asphalt.

Over time, Zoom has been established in historic silhouettes such as the Zoom Spiridon Cage 2 and Zoom Vomero, as well as high-performance models like the Zoom Pegasus and Zoom Fly.

The evolution, Nike ZoomX

In 2017, Nike pushed innovation to the limit with ZoomX, an ultralight foam inspired by the aerospace industry. Its debut in the Breaking2 project with the Vaporfly Elite marked a milestone in the marathon world, providing an unprecedented energy return capacity.

Since then, ZoomX has starred in key models like the Vaporfly and Alphafly, as well as being applied in training shoes like the Pegasus Turbo and Invincible, and in disciplines such as trail running (Zegama, Ultrafly) and basketball (G.T. Cut and G.T. Hustle).
