The Origins of Dime

While many brands boast of being born on the streets, few have done so as literally as Dime. It was in 2005, in Montreal, when a group of friends (Antoine Asselin, Phil Lavoie, Bob Lasalle, Hugo Balek, Charles Rivard, Eric Riedl, and Alexis Lacroix) began publishing skate videos with music and style from the nineties. Their debut garments were more than mere attire—they were symbols of camaraderie that quickly became coveted must-haves.

Dime, as a name, made its debut in their second collection of t-shirts, but its true structure was formed with the arrival of Vincent Tsang, the brand's artistic director, who has maintained its skate origins while leading its evolution.

Dime MTL, Crew, and Brand

Dime is a group of skaters and a brand, two sides of the same coin that are difficult to separate. Both share references and a sense of humor that has transcended to the garments themselves, signed with Dior typography.

The style of this crew has permeated the brand, which grows through collaborations that escape from the classic lines of skateboarding: running models from New Balance and Asics, outdoor lines with Merrell, and retro basketball with Reebok.
